Remote Certification of tax rate
The annual figure for 2025 has been updated, and it continues to be 1.75% (8% total). This continues to be a point of important inequality, where the administrative burden in complying with tax law is much easier for foreign companies than it is for Texas companies. The most glaring issue is when a manufacture is based in a 6.25% tax rate, and then delivers products across Texas.
In that scenario each transaction needs to be individually calculated, where as a remote seller needs to do one calculation on the aggregate.

Local Tax Changes
7 Updated Tax rates. Below is the listing of updates published. They fall into 2 categories - either small towns expanding to the full 2% or countywide SPDs for emergency services.
